Some of the problems hiring managers and decision-makers face are timeless. Here are a few interesting statistics you may be experiencing in 2016:

52% of hiring decision makers say passive candidate sourcing has been less effective for their company. (Harris Poll for Glassdoor, 2015)

47% of declined offers in 2015 were due to candidates accepting other jobs, up 10% from first half of the year. (mrinetwork.com/recruitersentiment)

Average of 56 days to fill an open position, up from 48 in 2011. (marketing.bersin.com)

To summarize, businesses are having more difficulty filling their open positions than ever before due to a lack of quality candidates.  These candidates have more options than before and are less receptive to being recruited by popular corporate methods such as LinkedIn and job boards.  It is taking longer to fill these open positions than companies anticipate which puts a burden on the surrounding staff and effectively causes problems in other areas resulting in wasting of time and money.
